The strings on the 7% grade and new tunnel intended to increase rail traffic has whetted my interest in one day possibly visiting Switzerland to ride some railroads.

Is there a book that gives a basic overview of the lines in Switzerland?

How many narrow gauges are there?

Do they operate year round or only in the summer?

I would imagine the threat of avalanches would cause some lines to be summer only operations.
