My problem (and the reason there's that 1% of me that understands this poor guy's behavior) is that he gets accused of being crazy, reckless, criminal, etc. - which he was - but when a railroad does basically the same thing to its employees it's called being competitive and looking out for shareholder's interests.
I will say it again.
I DO NOT condone this man's actions, and I am deeply saddened by the news. However, I sincerely hope we can look at what led up to those actions, rather than focusing solely on the results. I totally agree that everyone needs to take responsibility, and that includes the companies and individual managers who treat employees like tools to be used, abused, neglected, and discarded.
Mr. Brux needs to either go to prison, get mental help (the latter sounds likely, given some of his statements), or both. But he should NOT be the only one on trial, though I can almost guarantee that he will be. That is the saddest part of the whole thing, in my opinion.
