Bruce you have dug up so many interesting tidbits from old newspapers, I thought you might have some luck with this as I have not so far. The above two photos show the SVRy Austin engine house almost completely destroyed by fire. Beyond this obvious fact, I have no details, year, or equipment involved.
SVRy suffered two other devastating fires not counting bridge and trestle fires. These were the S.Baker machine shop in 1918 which happened to have engine 50 and the Eccles private car inside at the time. The second was the round house fire of Jan. 1921. Among the engines that were inside at the time of that fire were 19 and 20 which were only a few months old.
