Shay boiler question

This is a profile of the shay boiler for the locos I want to build. These were in use up until SH was used.
Notice that the top of the boiler slopes back and down from the steam dome toward the cab.
Does this taper continue back and inward on the sides or is it just on the top?
Michcal #15 and Manns Creek #8 both have this boiler and I need to understand how it should look.
There are a few shays still around with this boiler type, but I cant get to any of them to look at them.
