Some green boilers and more

Here is some view from a March 2014 visit to Bogota, Colombia on the 3ft Narrow Gauge line. The Government is in the process of revitalizing the long dormant sections of the line for use by private concessionare. However the restoration of service to nearly 15 years of closure must be addressed.

The Tren de La Sabanna tourist train operates over a branchline from Bogota to Zipaquira, 53 Kms. On Sundays they operate one of the Baldwin 2-8-2s or a 4-8-0. A privately owned and restored Baldwin 2-6-0 #8 with a green boiler. One of the 2-8-2s has a green boiler #72.

Here are two photos from the Bogota and one from Zipaquira.

Yes, I am doing OK. I have been given a clean bill of health for my cancer treatment and have had surgery to reconnect my Colon. I got to head back to work this month.
