Our meetings with the Town of Silver Plume did reflect a great deal of pride the community holds in the caboose. They were extremely enthusiastic in our discussions, and we were able to reach an amicable agreement with the Town.
Each of the C&S Cabooses was unique in many ways, our research has led us to the conclusion that no two were alike. Indeed there are many issues to be addressed in the stabilization, overall we have optimistically found her to be structurally sound but much will be revealed when she is in a stable location for restoration and a more thorough inspection is underway.
Many who have come forward to help, as well as those of us who founded the organization have experience on working tourist Railroads Such as the Georgetown Loop, the Durango & Silverton, and have done work at the Colorado Railroad Museum on a variety of projects.
However we are enthusiastically reaching out to others who are willing to share their experience and skills for this project.
