John I got one better than that, and I'm not really trying to put hunters down because I love to hunt, and use to be an avide hunter, till the state started making it harder and harder to draw out in areas that our family had hunted in for over 130 years.
Our family has a piece of ground that we run our horses on, and during the pheasent hunt, and as a youth it was my duty to do the posting(painting the posts orange) and puting up no trespassing, hunting only by permission signs around our land, but during the pheasent hunt we lost two horses, one had at least two shot shells unloaded on it at a very close range right in its chest and the other had been hit in the head at the eye and temple area with more than one a couple shots, now I have been out there during the hunt and have been pepper by shot quite a few times, but these were deliberate targets that some one used to practice on. Though we tried to find out who the deliquents were we never found out.
Still a Student,
Dave
