A few years ago one of our motormen on the Fort Collins Municipal Railway got the conductor of the year award for being the best conductor of electricity after pulling down the pole that was still on the overhead wire, climbing on top of the streetcar, steadying him self by grabbing the live overhead wire and then grabbing the errant pole with the other hand. This was after returning from down town with both poles up. He got to the trolley frog at Roosevelt Street when the leading pole came off of the wire and broke the rope to the trolley catcher.
