MUCH more better "Durango, Trout Lake and Telluride",* which had trackage rights from Durango to Rockwood on the D&RG, and then took off from the tail of the wye up along the edge of the canyon to Cascade Creek, along said creek to just below the waterfall, and then following the natural contours southwest of the falls and Engineer Peak until diving under SlideRock Ridge through a 3/4 mile tunnel, and finally running roughly west-northwest to a connection with the original route of the RGS at the tail of the wye at the summit of Lizard Head Pass ...
* JMHO, but there is a certain rhythm in the name of which - that Ed Stabler might take advantage of - for a top-ten RR song along the lines of 'Ghost Riders in the Sky' ...
