Hey all,
I recently had the privilege of watching "A Ticket to Tomahawk" on youtube last night. (for those interested here's the link to the full movie)
I've been wanting to see this movie for a LONG time and admittedly just to see RGS #20 under steam. And as a side note, despite the choice of paint colors, I think that the "Emma Sweeny" is one of the more tastefully done Hollywood Backdates done for a movie.
Anyway... as I watched the film I couldn't help but notice how a few filming locations stood out to me. I believe the majority of the railroad locations were filmed on the D&S. And there was a heavy use of Silverton as the backdrop in the beginning and towards the end. However in the beginning I noticed that the movie train rolled across a high curved wooden trestle, and as far as I know there's no such bridge on the D&S. Also there is a section where their in the middle of an arid desert with some buttes in the background. In the movie the location is referred to as Dead Horse Point. I don't recall seeing this location on the C&TS so is it the old Chili Line?
In short I'm exceedingly curious about the filming locations of the movie so does anyone have any info on that? I would greatly appreciated it!
