Hi,
A few comments first (to debunk some errors in the article).
1) Only the K27s were "mudhens". The K28s were "sports models". No nicknames were ever applied to the K36s and K37s. The author assumes that all outside frame mikes are mudhens - he used a "spare mudhen" K36 for his model.
2) The outside frame locos were NOT designed to have the wheels moved outside the frames to regauge them for sg. I think that a gauge of 4'10" is the smallest that can be used without changing the frame (I do not recall what I calculated at one time). Maybe we should have used southern sg (5'0")
.
Very interesting model though.

PS Palmer's D&RG narrow gauge meet Palmer's NdeM narrow gauge. Just did not get the two connected
