Rick,
We did lots of fence hopping in South Africa to get to the right of way. I don't recall those beeing barbed wire though.
Below was a way to beat the fences, but there were not too many good places to access overpasses. This was the daily passenger train departing Kraankuil, with 25NC 4-8-4 3436 doing the honors. Northbound to Kimberly from De Aar.
