Kevin, I seem to remember you telling some stories about the difficulty of chasing the WP&Y rotary on snowshoes. But you got some great pix!
By the time the C&TS got to plowing, the snow always seemed to have a nice crust, so that we could walk on it. I don't think anyone used snowshoes.
But I can sure relate to the time you needed some help. I can remember a snow camping trip with snow shoes in deep fresh powder. With our snowshoes we could walk just fine. But we had heavy packs on, and one time I managed to fall over backwards. With nothing but fresh powder to push on, I was totally immobilized. If my companions had not been there to help me up, I still be there. It was fun....but scary!
