Silverton Northern Caboose Update

We have put the caboose body back on the rebuilt under frame after laying a new subfloor. Most of the vertical rods that go through the frame were reused, but after removing the siding on both sides, we found considerable rot in the main frame members and particularly the top sills. That has all been replaced, we have new siding milled to the original pattern (not "B" board or V groove, the original has a U shaped edge that buts up against the next board). While the frame was having its iron work installed by John Braun, Loren built a new cupola based on plans and photos--the existing cupola had only the roof and a couple of corner posts as original fabric. Currently, the new cupola is now on the car body, rotten roof boards have been replaced, and adding the car siding is within the next week or two. The end platform iron work is yet to be installed.
