For years the San Mateo coal mine spur (I rode once) joining the BNSF Transcon at and serving the Prewitt power plant west of Grants has had a short stub track for a proposed Star Lake Railroad to Farmington. The line would run through Navajo land near Farmington.
wondering if SLRR is part of the BNSF proposal?

The NM Rail Runner Express connects the Abq and SFe areas at its commuter-max 100-mile length, providing daily service to the state's biggest cities.
Extending it is outside the scope of its designed intent, would require billions for proper cars, track rehab/signal improvements, more locos and crews,etc to tranform it into a regional network across NM.
