As the narrow gauge convention was nearby this year (Pasadena) I decided to go have a look. Since I am not directly involved in the table top hobby at this time, I could never justify travelling to go to the show.
I went with a friend on Friday all day from morning till night and had a blast. The main highlight was meeting the Farmer brothers, as I am constructing a 1/4 scale model of the same series caboose that they are restoring. I will make a post about my model update in a different thread.
I put all the convention and related photos in a gallery here, with sub-galleries by subject: [

most of what interests me is the funny back-woods logging items, so there's a lot of that there.
Probably one of the most impressive prototypical pieces in the contest was the Jordan Spreader. Every detail and lightly but realistically weathered especially on the wings. Here's just a few highlights from the show.
