Galloping Geese 4 and 5 off Golden for “Goose Fest”

Here is a transportation schedule for those of you who might want to chase or watch their departure from home or arrival at the CRRM for Galloping Geese 4 and 5.

Galloping Goose No. 4 will be moved from Ridgway to Golden next Monday, the 11th.

Galloping Goose No. 5 will be moved from Dolores to Golden next Thursday, the 14th.

I’m not sure of the route Goose 4 will take but probably – Ridgway toward Grand Junction on highways 550 and 50 and then, just south of Grand Junction, across 141 to Clifton and then on to the CRRM in Golden on I-70 and Colo. 58. (An alternate for them would be Ridgway to Montrose then east on 50 over Monarch Pass to 285 then north to C-470, I-70 and Colo. 58. (The way into the CRRM from Highway 58 is to exit at McIntyre St. then go west on 44th Ave. to the Museum.)

Goose 5 will go from Dolores to Mancos on 184 then east on 160 to Del Norte then 112 to where it intersects with 285. Then 285, C-470, I-70 and Colo. 58 to the Museum. We plan on leaving Dolores around 7:00 AM and should arrive at the Museum in mid to late afternoon.

Our return trip to Dolores with Goose 5 is scheduled for Monday the 18th.

Skanska International, USA Rocky Mountain District (Construction Company) out of Cortez, Colorado is hauling both these Geese. Kudos and a huge “thank you” to them!
