#30 / #74 Reassembly

Reassembly continues on #74 (#30) at the CRRM as can be seen in the image below from Friday April 27. Stack, headlight, whistle, and dynamo exhaust pipe have all been reattached.
Pilot, main rods, cab doors etc. are next.
As part of the reassembly, Jason Midyette dropped by to reinstall the "Prince Albert Tobacco" can that was in the cab of the locomotive while on display in Boulder, and is something that was probably placed in the cab by an engine crew on the C&S or RGS. This can served a very simple purpose - to deflect the exhaust from the automatic brake valve away from the firemans side of the cab.

A small detail visible on the backhead sheet above the firebox doors is a bronze tag (threaded into the boiler sheet) which shows that #74 had boiler work done at the CB&Q shops in Denver.
