As Kenton Forrest pointed out to me last year, the D&RG main line was in the valley at Malta, and Leadville itself lacked passenger service in later years. Trains did not stop long enough for fans to travel the several miles to get to town.

The C&S facilities are pretty well documented, but then the train went right by the roundhouse, and the water plug was by the depot.
