Re: Changing History

Not everybody views the past from positive viewpoint. My Grandmother, who was a rural school teacher in Missouri & Kansas (and yes she did teach in some one room schools) was not nostalgic about the past at all. Use of any term like the "good old days" would elicit a response & lecture. She witnessed many a child die from childhood diseases or a simple injury that we don't worry about today. She much preferred modern medicine, transportation, and communication to that of the past.

I do remember her mentioning riding the Santa Fe doodlebug occasionally....

She died in 1983 at the age of 88.
