Engineer R.L. ``Bob'' Parmenter was hired 9-21-1916 as a firemen. He was promoted to engineer on 11-22-1922. He was off the railroad by 1945.
Charlie Knight was hited on 7-25-1905 as a brakeman. He was promoted to conductor on 2-2-1909. He was featured in Lucius Beebe's ``Mixed Train Daily''.
There were four Smiths on the trainmen's roster so I don't know which once was the brakeman on the Chama-Durango version of the San Juan. Brakeman Dowds must have been a recent hired.
It looks like the officials were planning ahead for this one, dispatching extra crews.
