The thread was here, but I don't have the link yet. There is a difference between the 49 cars sent as part of the "French Gratitude Train" in 1947 and the actual 40et8 class of cars that have been built since the 1880s. During WWI several U.S. manufacturers built some to the French specifications, including David Eccles.
