Very few accidents were actually reported, as I am beginning to realize in my research. The narrow gauge, and interurbans, and even some branches of the UP in Utah had frequent wrecks, derailments and runaways and most of them were known only to the locals who witnessed them. Of course, there were so many wrecks and accidents that writing a comprehensive book about them all in the U.S. would comprise several dozens of volumes and make for a rather boring read.
