Bob Wright, CMO C&TS

I had the privilge of meeting and working with the Railroad's new CMO, Bob Wright. Bob is an ex-Denver & Rio Grande Western employee and started his career working on the narrow gauge in Alamosa in 1958 as a carpenter in the car shop. He later moved on to the operating department and qualifed as fireman, when he then relocated to Durango. Bob remained at Durango until 1968 and left due to the declining operations in that region. He also worked for the Burlington Northern as an engineer operating in the Gillette, Wyoming region. Bob's qualifications also extend into the mechanical department and his first hand knowledge of these engines is very apparent, which is understandable having operated the narrow gauge for 10 years. Like all ex-narrow gauge trainmen, he has a soft spot in his heart for these engines and is a true professional in all senses of the word.
Bob mentioned this morning that the 463 will soon be ready to roll out of her winter hibernation and be out on the line for a shakedown run.
