The Huckleberry roster includes three ex-Colorado cars. One RGS coach, 260 built in 1896, and two D&RGW coaches, 306 and 320. Both ex Chili line cars. 306 was built in 1881 and 320 was built in 1882.
They have four other conventional clerestory coaches, 40 and 42 from Unidos de Yucatan, observation car 100, a former business car, also from Unidos de Yucatan and combine 316 built in 1995/1996 by the Huckleberry Railroad themselves, using period materials and techniques. There are three duckbill clerestory coaches built from EBT flats 104, 112 & 113 and the prize of the collection, Kimball Car Co. coach 8, built in 1875, also with a duckbill clerestory roof. This car is stored in the shops and has never operated on the line, but can be toured on railfan weekend during the shop tours. It's a gem!
They have one other very historic coach, 102 which is a round roof car, acquired as a third class coach from Mexico but originally a tourist car from, I believe, the Catskill Mountain Railway.
Side door caboose, #0776 is ex Coahuila y Zacatecas, although the orginial number and build date are not known. The fleet is rounded out by 3 open gons, two ex-CZY gons 20 & 30 and one, no. 9, built from a Diamond and Caldor flat. There is one other classic piece of roling stock on the property, ex D&RGW caboose 0526, but it was dismantled for a frame up restoration which is currently stalled due to lack of funding. All parts are stored in the shop where the naked interior can be viewed, also on shop tours during railfan weekend.
To the extent possible, the Huckleberry has used original car and engine numbers, where known. 4-6-0 #2 has been renumbered back to its original Alaska Railway No. 152, for example.
