Rich thanks for posting these pics. I have never seen pics of the actual derailment. After this derailment we were lucky the 498 and 497 got put back in service although most of damage was superficial. I do think that the 497 ended up with a bad pilot truck which caused it to have issues on it's D&S career and C&TS career which I think helped contribute to the notion that the 490's were harder on track than they actually were. Only way to put my theory to the test is to get another K-37 up and running..which I'm all for!!!!!!!!!
