"City Water" means just that - connected to the local domestic water system. Alamosa, Antonito, Durango and others were on city water systems. Chama has its own well with an electric pump - which BTW is a whole lot more reliable than the local "City Water" When the local system would crash we'd hook up a hose in the shop from the pump to the city water line so we could flush the toilets in the depot restrooms. Naturally, we turned off the drinking fountains.
