Mike, I wrote an article about this for the Feb. Rocky Mountain Rail Report, Rocky Mountain Railroad Club. Also published in the The Bogies and the Loop, DSP&P RR Historical Society. I heard from Bob Richardson that on the D&RG swaps were made with boiler and running gear assemblies. He noted one in 1948 at Montrose with the 317 and 318. I'm hoping to find more infromation. Carl
