I find it interesting that Nevada can find money to continue construction of the V&T, but can't find money to keep a serious and world class museum open on even some kind of minimal basis. OK OK, different pots of money, but where there is a will there is a way. I suspect the folks who sell trinkets to the tourists at Virginia City have a more effective lobby. So as Dan says, perhaps it is time for those who appreciate more serious history to make some (polite and logical, but loud) noise. I have nothing against the V&T, but it is more interesting and fun tourist attraction than serious history.
