Interesting! Wonder if the records show Superintendent Ridgeway being relocated to another location at this time. But if the Engineer got badly hurt with the fireman in this incident, the engineer might not have been in the pay car.
Another story on the Superintendent just found: R. M. Ridgway posted a notice 8/22/1892 that train #61 and #64 must not delay their trains to get meals at Malta or Glenwood. Crews did not like it and William Gordon refused to obey the order. He was taken out of service and a strike followed. Fireman's union called situation of "character not to warrant strike" and "ill-advised" so did not condone the strike. I do not know how long that went on until arbitration ended it.
