A friend sent me a photo of a BNSF coal train on Crawford Hill (NE) that he took last weekend. I thought I recognized the location as somewhere I'd been before. It seemed like the same layout as the loops below Fir on the SLRG. Sort of, but the grade on the SLRG is much steeper.
But this photo, from August 18, 2007 shows #1744 climbing the grade with a clear stack. Something else the BNSF coal train wasn't doing in 2020!
