A spectacular 2 foot gauge railroad in Tasmania

While searching for information on a short 2 foot gauge railroad I rode in Tasmania in 2005, I came across this picture of a mixed train on the 2 foot gauge Zeehan - Williamsford railroad on the West Coast of Tasmania. The photo shows an 0-4-2 engine built by Sharp-Stewart of Glasgow in 1896 crossing the wooden trestle below Montezuma Falls. The 18 mile railroad featured steep grades and extremely sharp curves and eventually acquired the first two Garrat locomotives, and a 42 ton 2-6-4-0T Hagans locomotive. The first Garrat locomotive, 0-4-0+0-4-0 engine K-1, eventually returned to Wales after the 1929 shutdown of the railroad, and ran for a number of years on the re-built Welsh Highlands Railway. The RR in the photo, the North East Dundas Tramway, was one of a number of 2 foot gauge lines penetrating the extremely rugged mountain terrain on the west coast of Tasmania. Surely one of the world's most dramatic 2 foot gauge railroads.
