One of the things that fascinates me more and more, as I learn a little bit about steam locomotives is the interchangeability of many parts among brother and sister locomotives during shopping or repairs. Many locomotives have parts off of other locomotives, but yet some certain parts more or less determine the identity of a given locomotive.
Thus my question about the recent rebuild of the 168. Given that 168, 169 and 172 seem to have been among that late survivors of the T-12 class, were there any parts on the 168 that were found to have come from other, long gone T-12s?
