Donation Projects for the D&S?

William's post about 493's doghouse got me wondering about other donation projects for the D&S. How often do such things happen, and how?

I ask because when I was in Silverton a couple weeks ago, I was dismayed and appalled by the condition of the depot. It's in disrepair, and the inside is becoming a junked out, rotten pigsty. The mechanical and operation departments seem to keep the locomotives and rolling stock in good condition, but something is slipping in other domains. The Silverton depot is a historic structure and a local icon...and it's an eyesore for the railroad.

Rather than complain more, I'd prefer to put my money where my mouth is and give a couple hundred bucks to help rectify the situation. How do I do that, and would there be interest from others as well?
