Found this interesting and rather large (six axle) Porter diesel n the Rockwood yard last week. It appears to be kept there for occasional work train use. Anyways, from the research that I've done, it was built in 1946 for the Plaster City operation in CA. It was used there until 1979. Prior to it arriving on the D&S (not sure when) it also visited Huckleberry, Sumpter Valley, and Georgetown Loop. Must be a reliable unit and good puller! Even though it was apparently built new for narrow gauge use it appears to be standard gauge body with just the trucks narrowed. What prime-mover does it have? How many HP?
