Are there any researcher of PA narrow gauge lines who could make a comment about my post of several day ago concerning a "Newport & Sherman Valley order one engine from F.M. Pease. [major Chicago dealer]" in a RR Gazette April 1900?
The book "Bells, Whistles, in Old Perrry" had many holes in the N&SV roster. Some I can fill and some question remain. #2 was received Aug 1890 built Dec, 1880. #3 was Brooks #406 March 1880, received 1894 ex Cario & St. Louis originally.
#6 2-6-0 if built by American in 1895, must have been Roger #5102 for Monterey Mineral & Terminal, Mexico, but main office was Baltimore, MD less than 100 miles from Newport, PA. It was the only engine in the entire Alco record to fit that NG, 1895 2-6-0. Is there any way to prove this suspicion?
#7 was built by Brook #2411, not Pittsburgh.
#4, #8 Help! Open for suggestions. PRR
