I am doing a segment of a yard/roundhouse tour from 1994 in Durango. Here are a few questions.
I believe the 3 K-37's were 499, 498, and 493, but the one that should be 499 has no tender, and I didn't get a shot of the side of the cab so not 100% sure.
(1) Were the three K-37's inside the RH in May 1994, those three? 499 along with 493 and 498?
(2) What year was 499 traded to Royal Gorge for 486, and what did they do for a tender to go with 491?
(3) What year did 486 become operational on the D&S.
(4) I realize 493 is now under restoration, but where is 498 today?
(5) Before the recent restoration of 476 when did it go out of service last?
(6) When was the last time 478 ran.
(7) What year was 480 put back in service.
(8) What year was 481 put back in Service. It looked really fresh in 1994, but I think it must have just been a winter clean-up.
(9) 482 was obtained in the trade for 497. What year did 482 go back in service. It is viewed on a train in 1994.
(10) How many stalls was the Durango Roundhouse when it burned.
(11) What year was the fire?
(12) When was the new one built?
As a side note, I have seen all of the engines running in my lifetime, except for 486. Although its possible I saw it with my dad circa 1961. I have not seen it
on the D&S.
Thanks,
Greg Scholl
