Missing cars

I was looking the railway preservation guide for the C&TS, and I noticed that there were several cars that were on the property that are not there now, and have not turned up elsewhere. Off the top of my head I remember two 9600 pipe cars. And no, I'm not referring to the cars owned by Scenic that largely went to the D&S. Does anyone know what happened? A fire?
Help please?
