I think the upper one was taken in July 1968. 493 and 483 were on that train. They painted 93's and '83's nose for that trip.

The Antonito Red Devil was on the list of items purchased by the C&TS in 1970, and it was supposed to be moved to the C&TS yard. However, unknown parties had it cut up in the spring of 1971. The only part is it that survived was the enameled sign saying "The Red Devil Locomotive Coaler - built by the Ross & White Co."

Both Red Devils were installed in 1956. The foundations for both of them are still visible in Alamosa and Antonito.
