You're right, John -
I two noticed that the top & bottom of the zero were about twice as thick as the slanted part of the four, and spent quite a bit of time looking for a font with a better zero but could not find one. So I have tweaked the zero by enlarging the central red "egg" to get a better match, and – per your suggestion – sharpened the four's schnoz as well.
Before shrinking the resulting file to NGDF 'Avatar' size, I am posting it here in hopes that it will satisfy your curmudgeonly nit-picking — as well as Fritz' and my own:
Your friend through thick and thin,

p.s. To show that I'm just as nit-picky a curmudgeon as you are, note that the serifs in "YEARS" should be rounded to match those of the four.
Maybe I'll get around to it one of these days. Or maybe I'll just have to byte the bullet and buy a genuine D&RGW font set.
pps. And if "Rockies" had fewer letters, I would replace the second of the two four-letter words in the above image
. . .
