Here is a train heading uphill to the depot


These gons were at the end of the line at the ghost town of Mountain City.


To the left of the gons was where a trestle once was. Lindsey had no money to rebuild it, but he could cut a sharp grade into the hill side, do some fill work and bypass the trestle site. THAT'S why he bought the shays. The grade was eventually cut into the hill but little track was laid. Things were happening at Silver Plume but the Central City line was need for income. The line began in 1968 and was finally taken out in 1981.
