I'd like to report that the WW&F Railway Museum had an extraordinary tracklaying session this weekend, and it's continuing Monday.
We started Friday on a four-day tracklaying spree, with the goal being the newly reconstructed Humason Brook Trestle, about 1000 feet away. Thanks to a great turnout of volunteers we reached the trestle this afternoon. The first train rolled across it at about 4 PM. Everyone burst into applause when it happened.
We're going to continue tomorrow by laying hopefully another 300 feet to track on the other side of the trestle. If blocking material holds out, we may fire up #10 and run it out to the trestle. I'll report on that tomorrow.
I'd say all told about 40 to 45 separate volunteers have shown up during the weekend. Crews tended to max out at 35.
