We ended the day with a reunion of some of our friends and supports at our base of operations at Corredor in the middle of the forest preserve. I had a chance to meet a few people that I have only been able to follow on our newsgroup on Yahoo. Since it is Portuguese I don't converse too much. But as you can see by the pictures it is just plain fun to ride the rails with our speeder, all the time watching out for fallen branches and using the machete to cut back brush. Also you can see our large family of guard dogs also ready to ride in front of our O&K built Deacaville engine still shining from her trip to the railroad industry trade fair in Sao Paulo, thanks for the company NATURA paying to transport and display our engine and activties. Slowly more companies are supporting us, like the other mine which has been paying a group to rebuild our tracks for 2kms, look a new crossing and newly installed ties and even some ballast and to think that all this has happened in the last 6 months.
Hopefully before I return to Germany at the end of March we can celebrate the restoration of our DIEMA diesel locomotive with the brand new 3 cylinder YANMAR engine which was donated, maybe we will even get the Baldwin speeder operating again. I don't know if I will be here to see the engines moved but I will always be there in spirit with my PerusPiraPora friends. More soon
