Thank God for Small Favors

In the midst of these horrific events, and the ensuing carnage, believe it or not there are a couple of somewhat bright spots.
First, only two of the four planes found their targets. Can you imagine the scenario which would have resulted if the White House and the Capitol had also been taken out?
Second, it has been reported that if the two planes which hit the WTC would have struck below the midpoint on those towers, they would have fallen sideways, instead of straight down. Can you image a 1350' long swath being taken out of Manhattan?
So I think that we should be thankful that these scumbags were only partially successful in their heinous acts.
