So the late-September / early-October Kiwanis trip in 1962 was the first passenger
train over the new bridge.

Here is #484 with the eastbound train on 10/02/1962 - the second passenger train over the new bridge:

IIRC, the date was 10/02/1962. I am not certain of the exact date - it might have been Sunday, Sept. 30th or Sunday, Oct. 3rd - but there is no question in my mind that this was 1962. The bridge was not in service when I rode my first three-day trip in 1960, I did not ride in 1961 or '63, and I have a shot of #483 as the road engine crossing this bridge. It's on a slide in its original mount that is dated "Oct 1964" ...
