How thin can it be and still hold pressure? #2 *PIC*

These photos were taken in June 1974. Be advised the boiler was heavily scaled and many hours with a needle gun were required to reveal the topographical contours of the actual remaining steel parts. The boiler did, however, pass a 240 psi hydro test and was certified by the State of California for a 160 psi working pressure on Oct. 6, 1973. The permit was valid for one year.
THIS BOILER HAD A VALID PERMIT FOR 160 PSI WHEN THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN.
Fortunately this boiler was never fired up.
