I don't claim to know what goes on up in Colorado politically, but I do know that there are still at least six weeks to go in the legislative session in Denver. As is the case in NM, appropriations bills usually don't reach final form until late in a session.
Meanwhile, certainly wouldn't hurt for Colorado rail fans to remind legislators that they are the proud co-owners of a successful historic steam mountain railroad and that their co-owner, the state of New Mexico, has just ponyed up another $1 million in support. According to the Compact between the two states both are supposed to contribute equally to its support.
