Quick update on the Colorado trip.
Enjoyed a great visit to the Unitah collection at Grand Junction on Tuesday.
These guys have a good collection of Unitah box cars, flats, stock cars, and have done a wonderful job of restoring a Unitah caboose.
Following that, we made a trip to the Alpine tunnel location and got a real feeling of what mountain railroading in Colorado was all about.
As an engineer, you wouldn'd want to make the track gang unhappy with you on such a line.
Wednesday we spent the whole day at the Loop. Was a surprise to me to see all the freght cars they possess, and Tahoe, that was recently restored is simply wonderful. Would make a great addition to the SVRy's dream of a dinner train.
Thanks Steve and the rest of the crew at the Loop for a great day.
Tomorrow we visit the Sundown and Southern collection and then end the day at the Colorado Rail Museum. Yes ?Taylor, I will get a photo or two of the Davenport.
Bye for now
