Ahhh for the days when people wrote in a decent hand that
you could READ!
Most people cannot write in longhand (cursive) like that these
days....what a shame.
They taught us "Penmanship" in the first or second grade when I was a kid...circa 1949-52...I remember it was a pain in the butt, but I did learn to write so that people could READ it.
Decent pennmanship later really came in handy when I worked as a radiotelegraph operator and
didn't have a typewriter or "mill" to copy on all the time.
Now I take some pride in being able to write legibly when the "norm" for most people seems to be to scrawl and scribble to where no one can easily read it. Doctors and dentists seem to be the absolute worst!
Neither one of my kids signs their name so you can actually read it..
they just "make their mark", which somehow seems to be good enough.
I rag 'em about it sometimes.
