Thanks for taking the time to set up these documents for posting – I can see where it would be time consuming. I really liked the “Locomotive Inspection Reports” pertaining to the Geese.
There are a couple that were filed by Motorman Jimmy Cooper that I found particularly interesting. First, the one about Motor (Goose) #5 that simply says “Check Brakes”. He probably just came down the 4% grade from Dallas Divide and wasn’t too pleased with the handling – or lack of. The other one I liked was from July, 1940 where he writes, “Left door about off.” It seems the Pierce Arrow bodies were beginning to show some pretty good wear way before the Wayne bus bodies were put on 3, 4 and 5 after WWII. (Of course, he might have been talking about the freight box door.)
